We have designed our summer camps to provide fun opportunities while developing important foundational skills. All of our activities have a sensory integration basis, designed by the experts – Occupational Therapists at SUMA KIDS.
Camps will be held at our wonderful clinic using the latest multi-sensory learning techniques on our fun equipment:
- Suspension swings & platforms
- Hanging bolsters
- Lycra hammocks
- Scooterboard & ramps
- Hug machine
- Astronaut spinners
- Trapeze, hanging vines & more
Using our therapeutic knowledge and experience, these structured activities target specific skills areas and integrate sensory motor experiences, motor planning, bilateral coordination, midline integration, eye-hand coordination and provide supervised and facilitated socialization time in a safe, playful environment.
We will focus on mastering and improving handwriting skills using a fun multi-sensory approach that includes whole body warm up, fine motor strengthening, art activities & sensory integration techniques. The “Handwriting Without Tears” curriculum will be used.
Meeting Dates:
Using our sensory processing knowledge and fun equipment, our campers will move through structured art, fine motor and sensory-motor activities to develop new neuro-pathways in a safe, gentle and playful experience to develop skills for learning while having fun!
Does your child have difficulty sitting still & paying attention? They may be a multi - sensory & kinesthetic learner. We will use sensory motor activities based on the ALERT program to help campers learn how to regulate their activity level. We will also focus on social skills and how to interact with fellow campers in a safe and fun environment.

We use a sensory integration model to help children and their families learn new ways to “self regulate” so that they can have more meaningful interactions in their daily life – at home, school, on the playground and at camp. Sensory integration techniques help with learning, writing, reading, social behaviors and self care.
